THE COMPANY Hermann Schomburg and his nephew Paul Graf founded Schomburg & Graf in 1932. They started trade and wholesale of toplifts. Soon the business was extended to production and a wider range of soling materials. Until now the production of rubber-compounds at our own facilities has been the core-activity of the company. Since Herman Schomburg left in 1948 the company is lead by the Graf family, presently now in the third generation. The plastics-branch produced PVC-footballs until 1988. |

Additionally in 1979 we began producing state-of-the-art polyurethane-soles. Today the total number of employees is exceeding 80 people and without exaggeration we may consider ourselves as one of the leading European producers of soles for safety-footwear and soling-materials for shoe-craftsmen and -repair. Our aim is to offer solutions in a consultant way of work to achieve long-term business relations to the benefit of all parties. In our point of view this is the most important way to provide products offering advantages as good workability and good daily performance to customers and users. Schomburg & Graf is exclusively located in Wuppertal, Germany, and all products are being produced in that plant. This enables us to act and react fastly to demands, ideas and developments. |

MOULDED RUBBER PARTS Our rubber articles are produced with the Compression-Moulding system. Our presses transform the raw material into the typical, elastic rubber product. This process applies pressure of 200 bar (2800 psi) and high temperature. |
|
|
PUR-SOLES To produce Polyurethane-soles we pour liquid materials into a mould. After closing the mould the material rises due to a chemical reaction. Only after that process the mechanical properties will be achieved. Of course we use an ozone-friendly rising agent: water. |

THE LABORATORY Schomburg & Graf is conducting tests on quality and developments at its own laboratory. We have a variety of testing devices to ensure high quality standards. Furthermore this is the basis to realise material developments following to customers demands and requirements from standards. |

CERTIFICATES Most of our soles and other articles are subject to requirements from strict standards. Particularly the European standard CEN 344 applies to our products. Additionally to our own test procedures we are in contact with approved, certified test test institutes. All our articles for safety footwear are tested by them according to the current standards. |
